Dave's Journey

Now

Now

Since 2014, Dave has continued HeartVoice from a remote office, and maintains his purpose: To provide practical tools that cultivate acting skillfully, being fully present, and feeling joyful in everyday life. The primary intention of these skills is to help people experience a sense of coming home to the authentic self, their HeartVoice, and to nurture and express this connection through self-sustaining, long-term change.

In 2003, Dave founded and became CEO of HeartVoice, LLC, which helps people reconnect with their true nature, and reclaim their birthright of Peace, Love, and Joy. He integrated various healing modalities in Remembering Your HeartVoice: The Guidebook to support this deeper, transformative process of creative change. Dave also collaborated with local, national, and international corporations and non-profit organizations on state-of-the-art, hands-on programs for professional and organizational development.

In the 1980s, Dave (and Char) established a wholistic education, counseling, and consultation practice, the Center for Creative Change. He developed the Creative Change model to support individuals, families, and organizations to effectively transform growth crises into opportunities for inspired action and healthy change. The Center offered dynamic workshops on stress and resilience, meditation, yoga, whole person health, and related topics. Intensive long-term groups included the Self-Mastery, Life*Works: The Way of the Heart, and Energetic Painting programs, and the multidisciplinary business initiative, The Mastermind Group. With his team, Dave co-authored an innovative series of literature-based activities and books for teachers, students, and parents called Life skills: Dealing with change in a complex world. He also contributed the invited lead article, Journey of a Lifetime, for Perspective magazine.

As a licensed psychologist, Dave coordinated mental health agency services for a town school system and related area organizations. He consulted with the Board of Education, superintendents, principals, and PTOs to improve communication throughout the system, and conducted workshops for all stakeholders. In addition to counseling responsibilities, Dave also created a Positive Parenting (DCYS model) program and newspaper column.

He also facilitated an interdisciplinary task force to create a pioneering educational model and chart system for the hospital’s drug and alcohol treatment programs.

He was an invited speaker and conference presenter, a reviewer for Science magazine and other journals, and a consultant on curriculum development and research for the Institute of Pastoral Studies.
